Required Experience: | A Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in a field related to education, management, or administration. Knowledge of copyright process as it relates to the academic environment. Must have knowledge of accreditation policies and demonstrated experience working with procedures for graduate degree conferring institutions, specifically relating to student records and services. Must have a demonstrated customer service or student service experience. Must have records analysis and management skills, demonstrating experience in preparing and organizing statistical reports, managing data collection, distribution, and maintenance. Experience using Blackboard, Microsoft Office and the MS Office Suite of Education Support Programs, Academic Databases, and Search Engines in conducting research of course materials. The ability to work well both independently and within a team is essential. Aptitude to maintain a high-level of professionalism and confidentiality. |

Description | |
Duties Develops, maintains, and updates the NWC academic records management system, processes, and procedures; ensures the accompanying policy guidance and user guides are available in both hard copy and web-based formats. Establishes internal control procedures and ensures that office personnel comply with these procedures, especially in the safeguarding of and accountability for student files and records. Serves as the NWC primary point of contact for outside agencies, colleges, and centers regarding student transcripts and related information requirements. Responsible for the overall preparation, collation, maintenance, safeguarding, release, and utilization of official records of current, former, and graduate NWC students. Incumbent maintains verification, certification, and documentation for NWC Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) and other courses. Performs a full range of NDU Connect support functions. Manages the NWC schedule of routine NDU Connect maintenance, including course set-up, data integrity reviews, and data cleanup. Incumbent serves as the NWC representative on university committees planning future NDU Connect operational changes, as well as documenting new NDU Connect policies and procedures. Makes recommendations concerning improvements in NDU Connect processes, as well as enhancing customer satisfaction with NDU Connect services rendered. Processes student and course information while maintaining data integrity for use by internal components and University personnel. Extracts information from NDU Connect for producing regular and recurring reports, as well as creating special, one-time, and/or ad hoc reports. Prepares and submits institutional reports to internal and external organizations as required. Is responsible for the overall coordination and daily management of the NWC textbook procurement program. Develops appropriate textbook ordering instructions, directives and/or procedures, and implements them as authorized. Orchestrates the annual execution of a budget for textbook procurement. Ensures that the college spend plan accounts for procuring textbooks in time to support the academic curriculum. Analyzes copyright and reading requirements in order to calculate and execute funding for publishing syllabi and class/student materials. Coordinates closely with course directors and faculty, developing annual support program requirements and anticipated resources. Monitors and tracks obligations, commitments, and budget requests within their program area for consistency with budget spend plans established by the NWC Budget analyst. Provides logistical and administrative support to academic programs and curriculum development as assigned and in accordance with NWC and NDU policies. Assists in the coordination and daily management of the NWC admissions program; acts as liaison with the military services, DoD, other federal agencies, and the defense industry concerning development of student quotas, as well as the determining processes for the acceptance /rejection of student nominees. Develops appropriate admission program instructions, directives and/or procedures, and implements them as authorized. Formulates and designs procedures to determine if established admissions criteria and program objectives are being met. Makes management level decisions concerning the daily operations and continuous improvements in the application and admissions processes based on analysis of data. Provides input for decision-making purposes at a higher level regarding the overall management and administration of admissions program. Performs other duties as assigned. Conditions of Employment
