Job Summary The Coordinator II, SEA@FGCU is responsible for the development and administration of the residential and campus life component of the SEA@FGCU in order to achieve its vision and objectives. Participates in program strategy development and long-range planning. Designs and teaches SEA courses. Job Description Typical duties may include but are not limited to: Responsible for the facilitating design and availability of residential experiences for SEA students. Develops and implements system of assessing SEA applicants independent living skills and providing necessary remediation. Develops, implements, and administers policies and procedures related to campus involvement. Conducts research and compiles data for the purposes of evaluating program progress in order to achieve program objectives. Oversee creation and maintenance of databases on supports needed by students and how these supports were provided. . Collaborates with campus partners to ensure appropriate access to student services and supports and assists with scheduling of recreational and social activities. Writes and edits complex content for program proposals, research grants, publications, and other program activities Provides information and advice to current and prospective students, parents, faculty, and others in areas such as academic programs, admissions, financial aid, residential and campus life, and career planning. Develops curriculum and teaches program courses. Monitors program expenses, budgets, and finances. Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff, OPS, and part-time student employees as appropriate. Maintains work schedules, timesheets, and payroll action forms. Other Duties: Serves on institutional committees representing the interests of the department. Assists with recruiting of SEA participants and provide potential SEA participants with information regarding how to increase readiness to meet the demands of life on the FGCU campus. Collaborates with other SEA employees as well as FGCU offices to ensure delivery of high-quality services to SEA students. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Additional Job Description Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field. Four years of professional, full-time experience working with individuals with disabilities. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered. Experience with computer systems and proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited institution in Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field. Two years of professional full-time experience working with individuals with disabilities in educational, residential, or recreational settings. Experience working with youth or young adults with intellectual disabilities. Experience with best practices in post-secondary transition for individuals with disabilities. Experience using person-centered planning approaches. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statues, regulations, codes, and standards related to the employment of individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of how to plan and assess effective instruction. Knowledge of and experience with best practices in post-secondary transition for individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of characteristics and support needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment. Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved. Ability to understand, interpret, apply, and explain personnel policies and procedures. Ability to effectively manage the work of others by providing information, guidance, and motivation. Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate data and results in a concise format. Ability to work independently to complete assignments. Ability to provide professional customer service. Ability to present to large groups. Ability to always maintain confidentiality and discretion.
