Dr. Angela E. Batista is a distinguished leader, executive coach, and DEIB strategist. With a background in higher education, she founded Batista Consulting Services in 2020. Angela specializes in inclusive leadership and offers the Inclusive Leadership by Design Blueprint' for DEIB advancement. Her coaching focuses on self-awareness and transformation for senior leaders and organizations. Clients range from boards and leadership teams to those in career transition. She also provides comprehensive DEIB assessments and strategic planning coordination.

What is your professional background?

Dr. Angela E. Batista is an experienced leader and executive coach. She is an author, international speaker, leadership and team facilitator, and a diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) strategist with many years of practical and successful experience. She is the lead editor of the 2018 publication Latinx/a/os in Higher Education: Exploring Identity, Pathways, and Success. Angela’s work is grounded on the practical application of inclusive leadership as a central tool for leadership development. She has also developed an innovative Inclusive Leadership by Design Blueprint' to guide her work with executives, senior leadership teams, and organizations working to advance Diversity. Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). Prior to founding Batista Consulting Services (BCS) in 2020, Angela served as Vice President for Student Affairs and also Senior Diversity ficer for multiple institutions in higher education in the United States. She has also worked in K-12 education and as a therapist in the nonprofit sector. She has been recognized as a Pillar of the Profession by NASPA and served as Board Chair for the organization during the Covid-19 pandemic. Angela earned her doctorate in Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and her master’s degree from the University of Vermont. Her undergraduate work was completed at Brooklyn College in New York City. She has also earned certifications in Coaching, Gestalt Organizational Development, and Appreciative Inquiry.
